Sourced from herds that graze on the Kent Romney Marsh, you'll pick up the unique flavour provided by the lamb's natural diet of grasses and samphire that grow across the salt marshes.

Choose from a half (1.25kg) or whole (2.5kg) lamb leg, either on the bone or boned & rolled.

    What a treat!

    I first tasted salt marh lamb when I was in Northern France (Agneau de pré-salé) [and remember it vividly, often asking myself why our farmers didn't do it here in the UK.

    Well, they do! - as I found out recently. And it's every bit as gorgeous and tasty as you'd expect. I bought a half leg as I live alone, and simply roasted it with garlic, rosemary and (an innovation suggested on a food site) slivers of anchovy, and served it with its jus made with redcurrant jelly, new potatoes and garden peas. It came out medium rare, exactly as I love - brown on the outside, pink on the inside. Delicious!

    If you're a meat-lover and haven't tasted salt marsh lamb before, I thoroughly recommend it. The flavour is delicate (don't overdo the garlic!) and for me reminiscent of the way lamb used to taste when I was young (more decades ago than I choose to remember...)

    It costs more than supermarket lamb of course, but the extra cost is worth every penny. You'll remember it for ever!

    Romney Marsh salt marsh lamb

    Succulent and tender. A beautiful joint of meat with a superb flavour. Slow roasted resulting in crispy skin and falling off the bone.
