Shogun Sakes brings the time-honoured tradition of Japanese sake to the heart of London – locally brewed in Peckham by a passionate team determined to make sake accessible, fun and approachable for UK drinkers.
Born from a love of late-night drinks and global cocktails, the idea for Shogun Sakes began with three friends experimenting at home. After discovering sake on a trip to Japan in 2019 – sipping it with gyoza in Tokyo izakayas – the founders returned to London determined to share the experience with a wider audience.
In 2023 they launched the company, and by 2024 they had established their first brewing lab in Wimbledon, where their experiments led to the creation of their first sake spritz: a refreshing Bitter Orange spritz – and the first of several bold, fruit-forward flavours. Today their brewery calls Peckham home, and they’re one of just two sake breweries operating in London.
Shogun Sakes’ collection – from crisp, small-batch “Pure English Sake” to spritz variants – is crafted for the curious, the adventurous and anyone open to discovering a new drinking experience. All products are designed to be low in sugar, gluten free, vegan friendly, and ideal whether you’re at home, at a dinner party or exploring new cuisines.
Whether you’re sake-savvy or a complete newcomer, Shogun Sakes invites you to ditch preconceptions and explore sake as it was meant to be enjoyed: uncomplicated, inclusive, and endlessly refreshing.
