Black Grouse - Grugiar Ddu has a light golden colour, the taste is a subtle blend of honey and spices and it has a smooth finish. It is medium sweet so it is perfect if you have a slightly sweet tooth, without being cloyingly sweet. It has a similar mouthfeel to a sweet wine.
It can be enjoyed on its own, mixed with tonic or mixed with fruit juices.
This mead is 13% ABV and comes in a 500ml glass bottle with a resealable wooden-topped cork closure, presented in a wooden gift box with 100% recyclable packaging.
*The word "metheglin" comes from the Welsh "meddyglyn", which is a combination of "meddyg", meaning "medicine" or "healing", and "llyn" (an old form go "llin"), meaning "liquid" or "drink". Originally, meddyglyn referred to spiced or herbal mead, as it was often infused with medicinal herbs and spices. Over time, the word became anglicised as "metheglin", and is now used to describe all meads that contain herbs, spices, or botanicals.
