Village Maid Cheese named this epic semi-hard Guernsey cow's milk cheese after the local farm that produces milk for their cheese making, just two miles away from their Berkshire cheesery.
Made with vegetarian rennet, it's matured for 12 months to deliver a rich umami flavour and buttery texture that simply melts in the mouth. A semi-hard cheese, the texture is similar to "hard butter", with a natural golden hue from the Guernsey milk. Best served straight from the fridge, its mature cheddar flavour profile makes it ideal for making Welsh rarebit, topping a burger or served with a strong chutney.
