Producer spotlight: Shropshire Salumi
We’re extremely pleased to welcome Shropshire Salumi to the Farmfetch community – the artisan producer bringing hand‑crafted British salumi straight from Shrewsbury to your table.
Founded by Will Macken, a self‑confessed charcuterie enthusiast and foodie, Shropshire Salumi grew from a part‑time passion into a full‑time craft operation. While juggling a conservation consultancy and family life, Will spent his spare time curing meats in his kitchen in Grafton, Shropshire.

Now based in a bespoke curing room just north of Shrewsbury, the company uses only outdoor‑reared Gloucester Old Spot pigs sourced within two miles. These pigs are raised to high-welfare standards, and all spices come from ethical suppliers, with traditional casings used throughout. This meticulous approach ensures Shropshire Salumi's salamis are flavour-rich, authentically textured, and slow-cured to perfection.
Will’s unique background in conservation shines through in his "nose‑to‑tail" ethos – he’s deeply committed to animal welfare and sustainable sourcing. This dedication is evident in every bite.
Among the standout offerings, we'd recommend a few of our favourites
-
Classic Salami – Black pepper, garlic and red wine complement the sweet, high‑quality pork.
-
Fennel Salami – A lightly sweet, aromatic take on finocchiona.
-
Hunter’s Salami – Spiced with coriander seed, chilli and red wine – ideal for pairing with robust savoury recipes.
At Farmfetch, we’re proud to showcase Shropshire Salumi – a producer whose passion, provenance, and artisanal skills perfectly align with our values. Whether you’re curating a sharing board for a special occasion, making a cold cuts sandwich, or just looking for a delicious snack, these salamis bring the best of Shropshire to your table.
