We're delighted to introduce a new, incredibly exciting addition to the Farmfetch family: Northern Pasta Co.! This small-batch British pasta maker is redefining what it means to eat well – with joy, sustainability, and serious flavour.
From island living to British grains
Northern Pasta Co. was founded by husband-and-wife duo Imogen and Matt. Their culinary journey gathered pace on a Croatian island, where they embraced a lifestyle centred around locally sourced, seasonal food. Upon returning to the UK during the pandemic, Imogen started working at a local artisan bakery, where she discovered the potential of British grains. This experience sparked the idea of creating pasta using these nutritious, flavourful grains.
Recognising a gap in the market for high-quality, British-made pasta, Imogen and Matt began experimenting in their kitchen. Their efforts culminated in the launch of Northern Pasta Co., with their products initially sold at a local food market in Kendal, Cumbria.

Pasta with purpose
Northern Pasta Co. crafts its pasta using UK-grown spelt flour, sourced from regenerative farms. This ancient grain imparts a nutty flavour and hearty texture, making their pasta both delicious and easier to digest. Their commitment to sustainability extends beyond ingredients: the pasta is egg-free, slow-dried, and bronze-cut, ensuring it clings beautifully to sauces while being kind to the planet.
Operating from their solar-powered facility just outside Kendal, the team emphasises small-batch production, allowing for meticulous attention to quality and flavour.
