This exquisite hard-pressed cheese from Village Maid Cheese has too many awards to count, including:

Made from unpasteurised ewe's milk and vegetarian rennet, it's matured for up to 8 months with a thin, natural rind. Often compared to a Pecorino, Manchego or even a Parmigiano Reggiano, it has a well developed nutty flavour and a slightly crumbly texture. 

Use as a British alternative to parmesan, or serve with a full-bodied red wine.

Based in Berkshire, they craft award-winning cheeses like Wigmore, a rich and buttery sheep’s milk cheese, and Waterloo, a creamy, Guernsey cow’s milk cheese. Their handmade Spenwood, inspired by Pecorino, has also won acclaim.
