Producer Spotlight: Witchmark Distillery

We’re thrilled to welcome Witchmark Distillery to Farmfetch! Founded by the team behind Stone Daisy Brewery, this new venture is rooted in the historic Fonthill Estate in Wiltshire. With a focus on sustainability and quality, Witchmark produces a range of premium British spirits, including vodka, gin, and soon to be whisky, all crafted with care and attention to detail.

A Distillery with a Heritage

Located in a Grade II listed barn from the 1600s, Witchmark Distillery blends tradition with innovation. The 9,000-acre Fonthill Estate provides everything needed for exceptional spirits, from sustainably farmed barley to pure water filtered through limestone. Every step of production takes place on-site, ensuring quality and consistency.

Premium Vodka and Gin

Witchmark crafts its neutral grain spirit in-house to produce vodka and a variety of gins. Their vodka is smooth and versatile, perfect for sipping or mixing into cocktails like a vodka martini. The gins, inspired by the estate’s natural surroundings, feature carefully selected botanicals, including locally supported juniper through a partnership with the charity Plantlife.

Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of Witchmark’s ethos. They use solar energy, eco-friendly fuels, and advanced heat recovery systems in production. By-products like spent grains and botanicals are repurposed through local anaerobic digestion. Even their packaging prioritises minimal environmental impact.

Barley is sourced from regenerative farming systems on the estate, supporting biodiversity and ensuring the land is farmed responsibly. Witchmark’s dedication to sustainability is a key part of their mission to produce exceptional spirits with a minimal footprint.

The Rise of English Whisky

In addition to vodka and gin, Witchmark is contributing to the growing reputation of English whisky. They're soon to produce single malts and mixed grain whiskies, focusing on quality and innovation. More on this soon!
