Producer spotlight: introducing Bramblebee Farm

We're thrilled to share our latest partnership with Bramblebee Farm, nestled in the lush Norfolk Fenlands, a naturally marshy region teeming with biodiversity. Paul Day and his family, first-generation regenerative farmers, seamlessly blend time-honoured farming practices with a dash of innovation. They cultivate their own wheat and barley to feed their livestock and are dedicated to nurturing the local ecosystem by planting trees, hedges, and ponds across the farm.

At Bramblebee Farm, a delightful mix of grass-fed native breeds like Aberdeen Angus, Beef Shorthorn, Hereford, and Belted Galloways, all crossed with Shorthorn Bulls, roam freely between the farm's meadows and RSPB wetlands.

Additionally, they raise Old Spot pigs that exclusively feast on top-quality cereals grown on their land and that of neighbouring farms. You'll also find a small flock of grass-fed sheep, looked after by Paul’s son Burt, contentedly grazing in their hay fields.

But the Days go beyond just farming; they've created a haven for wildlife in the RSPB wetlands at Welney, aiding in bird conservation. Their commitment to working in harmony with nature is evident in every aspect of their farm, ensuring the well-being of both their livestock and the environment.

Why we love Bramblebee

  • Native breeds - Bramblebee Farm only raises native breeds of animals on their farm - these breeds have adapted to the local environment over centuries, meaning they can roam freely with less human intervention.
  • Organic - The Day’s grow their own wheat and grains to feed their livestock, plus the animals are fortunate enough to graze on the nutrient rich soils of RSPB Wetlands.
  • Regenerative - by doing what’s best for the animals, the Day’s are also doing what’s best for nature. They encourage soil and plant biodiversity, helping to minimise the impact of farming on the environment.

Keep your eyes peeled for the full range of Bramblebee products here at Farmfetch from their Old Spot sausages, Aberdeen Angus beef shin to their black pudding, when we launch later this year!
