A truly special product from Carmarthen Deli, their Carmarthen Ham is lovingly created by the Rees family using a recipe that's been handed down through the generations - rumour has it the Romans stole the recipe when they first came to Wales, renaming it Parma Ham!
The process starts with locally sourced whole bone in ham, which is air-dried and salt cured for up to 9 months to develop its rich, moreish flavour. Cut fresh from the whole ham, each slice will vary in size - this ensures the highest possible quality and flavour, without the pressing or additives used to create uniformity in supermarket ham. Carmarthen Ham has achieved coveted PGI status due to its quality and unique characteristics, making it one of only 20 Welsh products to achieve this feat - only ham made using the traditional method and recipe in the market town of Carmarthen can be graced with its name.
Available in 60g (3-5 slices) and 125g packs (8-10 slices), simply add to a grazing board, serve as a traditional starter with melon, peach or figs, or use as a cooking ingredient - it's fantastic wrapped around fish or asparagus, or used on pizzas!
